Famed for its beautiful beaches, the Ross of Mull offers superb walking, and amazing wildlife. But its unique geology and history also attract many visitors, as well as those passing through on their way to the Isle of Iona.

It’s situated at Eorabus, in Ardtun, north east of Bunessan, about six miles to the Iona Ferry and trips to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles.

Top: Ardalanish Beach, with the isles of Jura and Colonsay on the horizon, is a 10-minute-drive away.The basalt rocks of the headland – including the renowned Ardtun leaf beds – are a mecca for geologists and just a short walk away from the cottage.
