Guests' comments

Guests’ comments at Traigh Mhor self catering cottage are really important as we want our visitors to have a great stay inside, and out. Our old cottage offers comfy and cosy Isle of Mull accommodation for holidays. We’re not perfect … we don’t have en-suites or the latest HD television. However, we offer great views and lots of character, as well as a homely, warm welcome.

But don’t just take our word! Read what our guests say about their stay. Here’s a selection…

The week in Mull could not have been better. Astonishingly, we must have had the best three days in a row of this dreadful summer while we were in Mull. We were able to do all the things we planned – Iona, the fossil rocks, Carsaig as far as the Nun’s Cave, and a trip to Staffa. We saved Tobermory for the only wet and stormy day. Staying at Traigh Mhor brought back many happy memories for us all.

We had an absolute blast from the beginning to the very end. The Cottage was simply perfect. We loved waking up to the gorgeous views, sheep and cattle outside our windows and the terrific sunsets and mountains that were vivid due to lovely weather. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We couldn’t be happier.

Thank you for yet another fantastic holiday in Traigh Mhor. We had a lovely time again. We managed to pack loads into the week – even if the sun hid at times! Seeing over 100 basking sharks on the Western coast off Coll was amazing – we took another boat trip with Sea Life Surveys. We also went on the tourist boat to Lunga, Staffa and Iona – saw lots of Puffin.

“We did lots of walks – almost made it to the top of Ben More before being beaten by the mist and horizontal wetness. Must have been over 900m up. Really enjoyed The Whisky Cave walk – eventually found the cave after searching many inlets. The outward-bound centre at Camus also looks an ideal place for adventures.

We had an excellent stay, despite mainly cold, wet and often windy weather. The location is excellent for looking at wildlife, when going out seems just not worthwhile. Pleased to have close views of the Irish hares, pied flycatchers and a hen harrier, apart from the expected birds. Heard corncrakes around Fionnphort and Iona, but as usual failed to see them. It was not worthwhile to go to Staffa, but the local cliffs and cave are impressive.

We left Traigh Mhor this morning after a wonderful week. The cottage was extremely comfortable and we took full advantage of your tips in the folder for places to visit and explore, including Iona (twice), Ulva, Ardalanish and Uisken. We also walked past the “pimple” to the basalt columns and back round the peninsula. I managed to climb Ben More and it will be a few days before my legs return to normal! The weather was mostly changeable except for two excellent sunny days on Friday and Saturday. We enjoyed the organic meat from Ardalanish and we went to Ninth Wave which was an amazing experience. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us.

We had a great week on Mull and loved your cottage. It had everything we needed and was in a brilliant location. Having lambs outside our window was wonderfully exciting for our toddler and we had a great time exploring. We would definitely like to return sometime.
